Getting Into the Track

Making this a separate topic because it's different than most of the events we run.

This is for those of you planning to participate at the Sept 17-18 weekend at Watkins Glen:

•   Early registration closes at midnight on Monday, Sept 12.  If you sign up after that the Event Chair MIGHT waive the $50 late fee, but there are no guarantees.
•   For those doing the ($325) test day, the earliest you can get into the track is 6:00 AM on Friday, Sept 16.  We are in Group 3 and our first (of four) 22-minute session is scheduled for 9:24 AM, but even so we'll be stepping and fetching to unload and have everything set up for that first session.  If you arrive Thursday evening you cannot get into the track until Friday morning (so you'll need a place to park your rig Thursday night).
•   For those not doing the test day, SCCA Registration opens at 3:00 PM on Friday.  You will be allowed into the paddock after signing in as long as you're "respectful" of those doing the test day.

Update from Mark Mercurio:

"For those of you that are not familiar with the track there is plenty of space to park/camp for the night outside the track if you arrive Thursday night. There is a huge parking lot you can pull into and stay the night it is just across the blacktop from the registration building. Goodluck guys have fun be safe."
