Not wanting to overstep whoever "sponsors" this event for V8RRS-N, but here's the link to registration:

Chris,

I don't come here often so send me an email with the following:
. When do you want to start and finish?
. I ass-u-me NEDiv tracks (plus CTMP), but is that correct?
. One race per track or multiple races per track?
. Shoot for one race a month or more than that?

I have no objection to you using the V8RRS name.

Ok this is my thoughts on this, I'll keep the points for the year if the races have a sponsor.

A sponsor is a person or people that will be responsible for a few things like.
 Posting the registration link.
Being the POC at the race. Asking around to the V8ers who wants to be scored with us
Posting the race report. It can be just like Andy does when he is at a race (take pictures of the result sheet, maybe some picture of the car that race with us)

There is no money involved I'm/we are just getting us V8ers together to race and bragging rights.

It would be nice if Butch would pit us together a schedule and I'll post on the title foe the race if its sponsored or not. maybe at this point we can talk someone into sponsoring the race.

Now sponsors can do more like what Mark does at a race and have a party. It all up to the sponsor.

I like to keep V8RRS as the name because we still have stickers and T-shirts but if someone objects I'll use a different name.

Anyone interested?

That would be great. GT1 and GT2 grids have been growing and very competitive.

I'm thinking the July 29th weekend might work for us. We have a couple three weeks in front and behind with no racing. Also racing in July in Canada is usually pretty pleasant temp. wise. Andy want to try for that see if we can get a small group to go like we did a few years ago. I know Chris said he wants to give it a shot, I'm sure Tyler can be talked into it. Maybe You can work on Longo.

Chris and I (and others) have been trying to sing the praises of a GTA type road race car for the last 10 years.
Up here in the Northeast, it seems to fall upon deaf ears. People will spend $60-70K for a tricked out Spec Miata before considering a "stock car".  Lots of production based cars seem to be the more popular choices.  I don't get it.

Andy
The answer is numbers. Spec Miata grew quickly on the promise of cheap... That quickly vanished but the numbers were there so they stayed.  Something about 30+ "identical" cars taking the same green.

Quote from: Butch Kummer on January 03, 2023, 12:23:53 PMI believe Chris is wanting to resurrect V8StockCar North patterned after what we did with V8RRS (which was patterned after the SARRC series). I'll be helping him with the scheduling aspect of things, but I'm sure he would appreciate other assistance as well.
